This website offers an alternative ranking system for College Football FBS Div I as compared to the CFP Ranking and numerous other ranking systems.  It is based on the premise that a team’s ranking should be based on current performance and not on past performance or current potential.  This system uses two measurable factors of performance which are score margin and current opponent ranking to determine the points earned each week and thereby the team’s ranking earned for that week.

The data presented on this website may not be used in any manner to attempt to or to actually receive financial gain.  The website developer welcomes comments that detail deficiencies of this ranking system or that explain the benefits of this system.  The user shall not provide any comments that are vulgar or illegal in any way and should not take any action that is disruptive to the proper functioning of the website and its hosting server.

Conferences are allowed to use this system to rank their teams for the purpose of determining which teams qualify for a playoff or championship game.  If that is the case, the developer believes that it would be appropriate to publicly acknowledge the contribution of the Superior Performance Ranking System (SPRS).  In like manner the developer of the SPRS gives recognition to the following website as being the source of college football scores used by SPRS:

The method used by SPRS that is explained in the Description of applying the parameters of Score Margin and Current Opponent Ranking for ranking teams is proprietary and deemed to be copyrighted information.  As such it cannot be used unless prior written permission is obtained from the developer at e-mail address admin@superiorperformancerankingsystem.com except for the situation given above pertaining to conference playoffs or championships.  This method of using Score Margin and Current Opponent Ranking applies to other sports as well like basketball, baseball, and hockey to name a few and can be applied to different levels of competition including high school and professional.  Usage of this proprietary and copyrighted ranking method for any sport at any level must receive prior written approval of the developer.
